My twitter bio says it best: old, opinionated, grumpy, random.
Old, yes, but as my favourite t-shirt says: Retired, not expired . You want more corn? How about “Growing old is compulsory; growing up is optional”? Or “Growing old disgracefully”?
Opinionated: trust me, I am.
Grumpy: never did suffer fools gladly and the older I get the less time I have for them. I’m a fully paid-up member of the Grammar Police, Old School Branch, and can spot other people’s aberrant apostrophes at 100 yards. Not my own errors, of course, just other people’s. Don’t get me started on matters about which I can be both grumpy and opinionated.
Random: oh yes. Variety is the spice of life and all that. As you can tell from this site, my favourite hobby is photography. I enjoy taking photos of anything and everything, except people. Thanks to my lovely husband, I am an honorary Mancunian, albeit a Welsh one, and a stout (in every sense of the word) supporter of Manchester City. Not bad for someone who, until 2002, could honestly say that the only football match she had ever watched from start to finish was the 1966 World Cup Final. Politics … best not get me started on Politics (see “Opinionated” and “Grumpy”).
Why “The Spiral Quirk”? Because I love spirals (and swirls – that’s why I was drawn to fractal art); because all the half-sensible domain names with “spiral” in them were already taken, and because “quirk” is a great word.
I occasionally spout random, grumpy, opinionated stuff on twitter @thespiralquirk
